For some people it has been nearly 18 months of waiting and dreaming and now finally, in a week's time, 20 lucky expedition members will set off on an epic journey from Cape Town to Cairo. Vaccinations, visas, kitty, passport, travel insurance, mail redirection, farewell parties, turning the gas off and locking the front door behind you... there seems to be an almost endless list of things to be done before heading off, but the stress and nervousness of the preparation will all fade into the background as the sights and sounds of Africa weave their magic.
With the start of the expedition coinciding quite nicely with the start of Movember, it seemed only fitting that the Odyssey Moverlanders should be born. Driven by a desire to raise money and awareness for men's health issues (and to have a laugh and a bit of facial-hair-growing competition), we are hoping that friends and family will support the lads in the group as they grow their preferred facial hair arrangement while travelling through the first three countries: South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique.
